Fall Days

It is so much fun to learn more about your children and their families. The kids have been sharing Super Star posters they created with their families. The posters they brought in are wonderful and have great pictures and drawings about their interests and people that are important in their lives. This presentation is a part of their speech grade and our class is full of great presenters.

In October we are learning about bats and owls. Some of our second graders are giving detailed presentations about different kids of bats to share the information they may have learned in the first grade. Owls are coming up at the end of the month and we will explore owl pellets and find out more about what owls eat.

In math we have been working on problem solving, math facts and strategies. We learn about statistics and probability in our Bridges games and money, time and measurement during calendar.

Report cards and conferences are coming up in November. Watch for a conference preference form to be coming home on Thursday, November 1. If you need an evening conference be sure to return the form quickly as the evening conferences fill up quickly. Grading day is Friday, November 9 and there will be no school for students on that day.

Your kids are awesome and I am really enjoying having them in my classroom.
